Big news today:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/7833402.stm

He was originally going last season, but stayed as he wanted revenge for the Alonso buisness. Might make a big difference to McLaren!

It's going to be an awesome season - that Renault looks strange compared to the rest!

Most of the new cars now launched. Should be a cracking new season with the new rules leveling the playing field.

I'm not sure myself, I reckon Red Bull should be strong. DC as a test driver and Newey as a designer should create a great car. BMW stopped developing their 2008 car in July (Mclaren and Ferrari went to the end of the season) so they should have a decent 2009 model. Then there is Honda (if they get bought), any Brawn orgainsed team should produce the goods. Add Williams and the second Red Bull team (racing the same Newey car but with Ferrari instead of Renault engines) and its very difficult to know which way to look for the dark horse.

No real form has been established in testing yet either so its all very confusing.

Jenks and Greg, as the only 2 other posters in the F1 thread, you are both invited to my house to watch the opener with Amanda and me.

Thankyou for that kind offer Plas. I know Aus is a later start than usual this year, but isn't it still at 7am? Might struggle to make it over to yours for that, but we will see!

Would Luco be invited too if he posted in this thread? Wink

Red Bull appear to be leading the way in testing at the moment, but its difficult to read to much into the pre season testing.
