Post Post subject: The History of TTFE
Sorry if it seems as though I am spamming on a major scale here, but it is confirmed - I WILL write the history of TTFE this week using the forums as a source of reference. I hope to start tomorrow. If I can get it all up on here I will certainly do that, but if its too long or too big in size I will have to distribute it in another way.

What I will try to do with this work is mainly the following:

- Give an indication of how TTFE started
- Establish roughly when new members joined
- Identify the key concepts which we have discussed and have consequently implemented
- State how we moved from the 'old order' (Chris V Dale) to the more liberal and rule-free age which followed
- Discuss the 'age of statistics' which we have in present.

I may post some questions up here from time to time and if you could give any help in answering them I would be most grateful.

I have to say I am intrigued by how you intend to write this up - will it be a narrative or an evaluative piece, i.e. the consequences of all the changes and what that has meant for the thursday football experience?

I imagine this thesis will be of substansial length (charting from Chris V Dale, to Joe V Dale etc etc) and not able to go on the forum as a post - perhaps Plasmo could set up a page for it on the main thursdayfootball.co.uk site? Just an idea?

Lastly...as much as I look forward to reading it...Get A Job!

I am not sure as of yet, I think it will depend on how the research goes. My original plan was to make it a narrative piece, but that wouldn't do justice to the path TTFE has taken over the years. I want to show how TTFE came to how it is now and I think maybe an evaluative approach will be the best way of creating this type of work. Saying that, I want to be able to make a work which has a bit of humour, a bit of comedy and one which also reflects the silly things we do - so equally I would like to have elements of descriptive passage.

I'm guessing that didn't answer your question! Like I said I hope to get the research done first and see what patterns emerge - then I will know what approach is needed to create such a challenging work.

i intend to spend some time replying to the initial questions of this thread, but first off, of course you can have a page.. let me know when and where you want it... what it should be called etc.

--EDIT--

I may not post the post mentioned here as i think i have mentioned anything i was going to write about to Joe in person... if i do think of anything, i will obviously let you know though Shabbs.

Just an update really for the TTFE History, as it has seemed to take a back seat in priorities of late. My work in Porthcawl over the summer has taken much of my time and I havent made much further progress with the history.

I am continuing to work in Porthcawl until January, but I will be working on the history and will aim to get the final draft done by the end of October.

Just finished the first draft, it is around 23,500 words long and spans over 75 pages (double spaced, size 12 font). Just need to reread it all, add the pictures for Dale and include all the extras!

Hello to one and all.

As you may have heard on the grapevine, the TTFE history is now completed and was launched at the TTFE Xmas Party. Those who attended had an advance look at the history and have all received a digital copy for attending.

At the moment, the hard copies have been pushed back because my editing team have found a few flaws, which have proved to be harmful errors to the integrity of the work. Therefore, I have been forced to re-edit the history to maintain my reputation and name. You can expect a copy if you have ordered, or would like to order one, in mid January. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

The cost of the history is as follows:

Digital Copy £2.00
Hard Copy £6.00

All proceeds will firstly go towards production, then the remainder will be paid back into the TTFE kitty, to hasten the return of free games for the next coming year. So please, dig deep as all money will aid the organisation and ultimately, you.

All enquiries/order please post on this thread or email me on ycymrojoe@googlemail.com.

Thank you and good night.
