The Merthyr Maestro continued his dominance of Poolmania by once again as Greg Davies won his third title. On the return to American tables Davies feared that he may not be as strong as his favoured British game, however he proved that he can hold his own whatever the colour of the felt.
This year’s tournament, consisting of eight men, saw the emergence of Chris Phillips as a major player in Poolmania folklore with his first appearance in a major final. The first fixture mirrored the last, with Davies being the victor of both.
It was hard luck once more for Jon Pride, who strangely again took third place in a replay of the previous year’s third place playoff against Karl Manley.
