And also as part of the same question, why is it the contestants win a fitted kitchen and they don't live in the same house

Another 1 to add to the list, any idea why it took him the commercial break to count out £40 in two £20 quid notes?

A couple of Peter Kay inspired questions here, not one of them that interesting but i'll answer them in sequence anyway. Confused

During my research with Central Television (the producers of Bullseye), they politely reminded viewers that 'Bully's Special Prize' was not always a speedboat.
And apparently during its run the show boasted winners from Great Yarmouth, Bournemouth, Weston-Super-Mare and Scarborough to mention a few.
All of course, seaside towns! Wink

Central Television (the producers of Bullseye) state that a fitted kitchen was never given away as 'Bully's Special Prize'.

Prior to 1995 cash prizes on UK television game shows were restricted by the ITA.
This meant prize money for Bullseye's era of £3,000 or less.
One way around this was to offer prizes equating to a higher cash value eg. a speedboat or a car.

Thus... If a car was won as the top prize and the contestants didn't wish to share it, the production company were within their rights to provide a cash alternative that could be split.

Pass this on to your sister. Wink

Central Television (the producers of Bullseye) claim that this statement made by host Jim Bowen (I'm assuming that's who Dale means by 'him') was just a convenient link to the mandatory commercial television break and not a statement of fact.

On the evidence of these posts, I'd definately suggest leaving the Bullseye humour to Peter Kay.
Although I'm glad to see his best selling DVDs are coveted within TTFE.
